I decided to start this organization during the Summer of 2006. It has long been a concern that while that majority of memorabilia dealers are honest, there are a growing number of crooks that because of ebay and other sites are stealing a very large amount of money everyday via these sites. While all HONEST dealers are aware that a FULL SET of Beatles signatures from 1964 being sold on ebay for $400.00 are without question fake, people still buy them because they did not do any reasearch and therefore have no real idea. My main area is gold record awards, mostly the WHITE MATTE format. There is no price guide for these awards and therefor the prices are all over the map. We have established a database on our dedicated Beatles website that lists every Beatles RIAA white matte lp's and singles and their current market value. At least once or twice a month I am contacted,usually from Europe asking me to look at some awards that they purchased at auction or from a dealer within Europe. My last request was today 11/12/06 someone in Germany had bought several awards at auction years ago. The artists included ,The Beatles,Stones,LedZeppelin etc. EVERY award was either an outright fake or had been restored. Of course none of this information was disclosed at the auction. There has been a problem with European dealers for several years,and we watch them very closely. At the present there are pronlems in GERMANY,HOLLAND, SPAIN and THE U.K.
